This policy describes how Brands of Babel LLC (“we,” “us”) handles information in connection with Shelves of Babel (the “Service”). Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run an analytics product, we do not sell your data, and the market data you see comes from public Amazon search results, not from your accounts.

Account data: your email address, password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider), and the brand name you optionally claim.
Configuration: the shelves, keywords, weighting choices, pinned products, and notification preferences you set.
Usage and technical data: standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and product improvement.
Payment data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store full card numbers.

We do not connect to your Amazon account and never ask for seller credentials. The market data in the Service (rankings, prices, ratings, brands) is collected from publicly visible search results pages, independent of who you are.

To operate the Service, authenticate you, send transactional email you have enabled (confirmation, digests, alerts), provide support, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We send marketing email only with your consent, and every email includes an unsubscribe.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf: hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), payments (Stripe), and email delivery. Each is bound by its own data processing terms. We may disclose information if required by law.

We use cookies for authentication sessions. We do not run third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

Account data is retained while your account is active. Email hello@brandsofbabel.com to delete your account; we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting purposes. Aggregated market data (which contains no personal information) is retained as part of the Service’s datasets.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately at hello@brandsofbabel.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@brandsofbabel.com. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (such as the EEA, UK, or California), we honor the applicable access, portability, and deletion requests.
